  • Gopi welcomed the participants and gave a small introduction about ILUGC

  • Mohan talked about WebAuthn
  • First explained asymmetric encryption and how it functions as the cornerstone of modern communication
  • Enlisted various openssl commands that lets you pack public keys in certificates
  • Introduced WebAuthn as an asymmetric passwordless authentication
  • He demonstrated the usage of ubi key which can be used in WebAuthn
  • Concluded the talk by taking in few questions about encryption and authentication

  • He explained the difference between “hacking” and “cracking”
  • Provided a brief introduction about hackers and the early stages of hacking
  • Explained the difference between hacking and cybersecurity
  • He provided explanations for various terms and categories within cybersecurity
  • Concluded the talk by taking in questions on how to start learning about hacking

  • We had a lively discussion about access control followed by other aspects of Linux
  • There was also a brief introduction about mailing lists, irc
